Mr. GEORGE ALEXANDRU

Founder, Chairman of Board and CEO

George is an enthusiastic entrepreneur, holding an MBA in Finance and Management at Bucharest Business School – Le CNAM Paris ,  with 18 years’ experience in  business in areas like IT&C, Security and Energy Sector. 

Under his leadership, successful companies were created and developed in Eastern Europe and Africa.
He was starting his career working with Oracle from Prague and IBM Corporation, later on,  starting his own business, expanding the areas of expertise into security ICT, real estate, energy and environment.  

In East Africa he is present since 2014 creating successful business, working in Tanzania, Zanzibar and Zambia. One of them, Rom Solutions Ltd (www.romsolutions.co.tz) , a company involved in government projects like smart city, surveillance, traffic management, boats resellers for European producers, having strong partnership with most European technology providers like AXIS Communications. Under his management,  was successful delivered projects worth more than 45 M USD. 

His role in The Squid Ltd. is Chairman of the Board and CEO, managing the development stage, overall strategy, development, and sales. 

Mr. APIYO ALOO

Associate, Hotel Development & Advisory in Africa & Indian Ocean

Lead Consultant – Director of Hotel Development with a passion for hotels and real estate asset classes. Has worked for both Alliance Hospitality (Hotel Development Advisory Partner – Sub Saharan Africa and JLL – Associate Hotel Advisory SSA (A leading Global Hotel Development & Advisory Firm). 

As a lead consultant with the Lustar Hospitality Group, Apiyo focuses on delivering strategic advisory services to local, regional, and global clients across Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Apiyo has over ten years of experience in the hospitality real estate industry both in operations and advisory. Founding partner of Ankara International Real Estate Trust (Lustar Hospitality), broad experience includes hotel development both greenfield and brownfield, capital advisory, feasibility assignments, hotel repositioning and turnarounds, new market entry, brand development strategy, and strategic advisory.

Bogdan is the co-founder and principal architect of ZEE Architect Studio, an interdisciplinary studio which designs and directs comprehensive and integrated projects in various fields such as mixed use buildings, offices, hotels, commercial and residential projects around the world. Bogdan has a Bachelor Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from UAUIM Bucharest and is a licensed architect since 2009, with Design and Built experience in an international architecture company before joining his own practice.

Boasting over six years of professional experience in the Real Estate industry, Gina embodies the expertise that every nascent investor in the region could rely on. In her role as a Senior Investment Consultant, she has adeptly steered numerous clients towards making prudent investments in diverse properties within the area. Her position within the company as part of the project development team establishes her as an essential conduit between investors and developers, wherein she integrates her profound understanding of both parties' needs with practical, effective solutions tailored for the regional context.

With a robust academic and practical background in Engineering and Technology, Gina's passion extends into Real Estate Development Projects, an area where her enthusiasm and knowledge converge. She has been instrumental in the successful fruition of several projects under The Squid Ltd.'s banner, offering her considerable expertise to shape their outcome positively.

Mr. ODAANA MAGUMBA

Founder, Stakeholder and Chief Financial Officer

Odaana Magumba is an ex-corporate banker with over 9 years of experience with Standard Chartered Bank (UK, Sub Saharan Africa, and Middle East) turned entrepreneur in Finance, Surveillance Security, Real Estate and Energy industries respectively.

Committed in contributing to the economic development of Tanzania through involvement in activities that ultimately promotes equal access to opportunity for all Tanzanians. Particularly interested in how the intersection of technology and finance can be harnessed to create new, disruptive, and cost-effective models that increase financial inclusion.

As a Co-Founder and Chief Finance Officer of The Squid Ltd., the fundamental role is in managing the company’s financial strategies and managing financial institutions relations. As well driving the business development committee in new prospect businesses, acquisitions and fund raising.

Mr. STEFAN LICHWAR

Projects Principal Associate, Project Manager and Architect at The Squid Ltd. Zanzibar 

Mr Stefan Lichwar has more than 40 years of Civil engineering and industrial construction works experience, following his appointment as General Manager of ASCO Constructii Company since 1992, design engineer at Design and Calculation Centre Bucharest (1990 -1992) and at former design engineer at Bucharest Industrial Construction Central (1987-1990). 

ASCO Constructii (https://ascoconstructii.ro/projects) portfolio ( more than 1500 projects managed in real estate ) under he’s management and guidance, comprises a wide range of projects, including low and high-rise residential, hotels and conference facilities, offices, commercial spaces, etc. designed in Romania as well as in international locations such as Egypt, Chad, Seychelles, Rwanda and Zambia. Also, the company has positioned itself in the top of the profile companies by turnover, having contracts only with private beneficiaries.

Mr Lichwar is renowned for remaining passionately involved in every aspect of the business he has built over time and also for being a proponent of innovation. 
The role in The Squid Ltd., is to be the Technical Director, Project Manager 
, Architect and overall supervisor in the construction stage of our developments.

Mr. DAN STEFAN CIOBANU

With an extensive career encompassing over 30 years in Information Technology, Dan has established himself as an International Expert in Smart Technologies. His projects have wielded a global impact, touching all continents, and he is perpetually drawn to challenges that push the boundaries of what is possible.

Possessing Ph.D. studies in Artificial Intelligence and a graduate degree from the Cybernetics Faculty of ASE Bucharest, his academic credentials are solidly grounded. This foundation has been crucial in his practical contributions across various sectors, including Financial Services, Law Enforcement, Entertainment, and e-Administration. Among his notable achievements is a patent in remote gaming technology, which has pioneered new frontiers in the entertainment industry. His work in smart cities, intelligent buildings, and enhanced living environments has set new standards in technological applications for urban life.

His expertise is multidisciplinary and innovative, consistently seeking out challenges that result in transformative solutions within a continuously evolving technological landscape.
